Deployment of scientific devices in the Swedish Baltic Sea
Figure C-POD:
Set-up of a station including C-POD (left) acoustic releaser and rope canister (right), concrete weight and marker balls (to ensure upright position of POD). Bottom line and second anchor stone not shown. Stations rise 2m above ground and have no surface marker. Mooring consists of two 25kg weights. No material will be left on the ground, deployment and maintenance is done without anchoring, maintenance will be done every 8-10 weeks
Företaget BioConsult SH har meddelat SFPO att man denna vecka (16-20/4) skall placera ut 22 st C-POD utrustningar.
12 st Syd Skåne och 10 st söder om Gotland (se positionslista nedan)
En C-POD är mera känd som "Tumlarklick-detektor". Utrustningen reser ca 2 meter från botten, de kommer inte markeras vid ytan .
Utrustningen skall stå ute cirka ett år. Underhåll / Övervakning av C-PODarna görs cirka va 8-10 vecka

On behalf of Örsted Windpower A/S, BioConsult SH conducts environmental monitoring in two areas of the Swedish Baltic Sea south of Skane and south of Gotland.
As part of this we intend to deploy C-PODs (devices to monitor harbour porpoises) on the sea ground for one year.
The devices and anchoring system have a height of 1,80m above sea floor. In total there will be 22 deployment positions, 12 in the Skane area and 10 in the Gotland area (for position coordinates and equipment setup please see attached files) which will be serviced via ship approximately every eight weeks.
The initial deployment is now scheduled for the time of 16-21 April 2020 and will be carried out by the vessel "Arne Tiselius".
