Munitions exploded in North Sea ahead of wind farm development
Unexploded ordnance on the seabed an growing issue as footprints of developments expand.
Vattenfall, the developer of the large Nordlicht 1 and Nordlicht 2 wind developments 85km off the North Sea island of Borkum, has confirmed the detonation of a number of unexploded ordnances (UXOs), pinpointed after an extensive geophysical survey.
